Study Finds Linux Less Expensive Than Windows

In a new survey of I.T. organizations, respondents claim that recent developments in Linux have eased management complexity and lowered the price associated with running the operating system and its related software.

The results contradict some Microsoft claims that Linux's total cost of ownership is higher than Windows.

To Russia From IBM: A Hand With Open Source Development

Whenever I see headlines such as these I wonder why we can't organize and start getting assistance here in our home states.

One obstacle I see is that we perceive a need for "geeks" to take advantage of an opportunity like this.

Our kids are as smart and capable as any but need some organizational help to get them started with developing the necessary skills.

Open Source IS the future of the world economy. We need to act soon to keep the US economy ahead of the world economy.

We used be the leaders; let's stay that way! Open Source education is needed now!
